CCMRH Researcher Network

NEW! CCMRH Researcher Network on LinkedIn

What is the CCMRH Researcher Network?

The CCMRH Researcher Network is a platform on LinkedIn explicitly for researchers conducting maternal and/or reproductive health research relating to Caribbean populations. This platform is an opportunity for researchers to connect, learn more about each other's work, and identify points for collaboration. Researchers are encouraged to post about their work, publications, relevant conferences, and funding opportunities. While CCMRH will monitor posts, the LinkedIn group will mostly be self-governed. Periodically, CCMRH will host researcher networking sessions for researchers to meet virtually.

What is the rationale for this network?

CCMRH was initially founded by its co-founders, Aliya Allen-Valley and Khalida Saalim, as a response to the lack of available maternal and reproductive health related research in the Caribbean. We’ve seen and heard about existing maternal and reproductive health challenges first hand, but we knew that in order to address these disparities, it was crucial to have data to support our work. Through our outreach throughout the past few years, we’ve identified so many outstanding experts who contribute to the field of maternal and reproductive health research in the Caribbean. However, many researchers have reached out to CCMRH to identify ways to connect to other researchers in this space and we’ve noticed that some researchers face the challenge of having their work known and widely disseminated across the Caribbean.
